Breast Liposuction in Men. The goal of liposuction in males is simple: Improve the patient's natural appearance by removing as much fat as possible and avoiding any damage to the skin or muscles. Liposuction is one of the four most common areas of liposuction in men. Other areas are abdomen, wings, chin area, cheek and jaw. Male patients with excess breast fat achieve significant improvement with liposuction.

Natural breast for males

The normal male breast contains fatty tissue (fat) and fibrous tissue. Breast tissue in men is usually a small bump just below the nipple. This tissue is stronger than surrounding adipose tissue. It is relatively easy to remove adipose tissue from the breast by liposuction, but it is difficult to remove adenocarcinoma.

Potential patients must understand that it is sometimes difficult to accurately assess the relative amount of fat and real adenomuscular breast tissue in the male breast. Routine magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) can help assess the amount of adipose tissue in the surrounding adipose tissue.

Pseudo-gynecomastia

Pseudo-gynecomastia is known as breast enlargement in man due to excess fatty tissue. Most men who have unusually large breasts are the result of excess fat. As happens in most men as they age. Overly greasy breast is not uncommon in relatively younger men.

Gynecomastia

Gynecomastia is defined as male breast enlargement caused by glandular tissue. Increased mammary gland tissue in men is not common. There are a number of different reasons that gynecomastia can occur including alcoholism, testicles failing to produce enough testosterone and the use of certain medications. Bilateral gynecomastia can also be associated with HIV, treated with renal failure with dialysis and some cancers, such as testicular cancer. If a man has larger breasts, then only the possibility of a real breast tumor should be considered. A large inconsistency in the breast in men is a reason to suspect the possibility of cancer so you have to do mammography.

Male breast liposuction

Excessive liposuction of males can be performed by local anesthesia. After local anesthesia is gently injected into specific areas of the skin surrounding the breast, several 1.5 mm incisions are made. Then, a large amount of local anesthesia is pumped into the breasts. The resistance of the adipose tissue to the microcannula can be reduced by infiltration of a large volume of local local anesthesia. The smaller the diameter of the cannula, the easier it is to penetrate dense tissue. Canola 5 cm long is ideal for initiating liposuction in the dense part of the male breast.

Postoperative care

After liposuction is complete, the open incisions (not closed by surgical thread) can be kept in order to increase the discharge of the swollen fluid (anesthetic solution). This drainage is absorbed by pads attached to the trunk. For more pressure, elastic clothing is used on the chest. These clothes usually contain velcro straps or hooks that are attached to the front and extend from the shoulders to the middle abdomen. This combination of pressure devices allows for a adjustable degree of pressure that can be applied accurately to the entire liposuction area. Proper pressure during the first 18 to 24 hours after surgery is necessary to prevent excessive bleeding and bruising.

Realistic expectations

While it is unrealistic to expect an ideal outcome, most patients expect significant improvement. It is good for patients to assume that they will receive only 50% improvement. In fact, most men get an improvement of more than 50% but better to be careful. If the patient is not satisfied with a 50% improvement, his or her expectations may be too high and unrealistic to avoid intervention. In some men, there is little room for improvement. For example, if a man has a small amount of excess adipose tissue in the breast, the surgeon can tell the patient not to expect an improvement of more than 30 percent.

Possible causes of patient dissatisfaction are insufficient amount of tissue that is removed by liposuction, excessive scarring, uneven or asymmetrical results, and irregular skin. The use of microcannulas tends to reduce the risk of these problems.

Avoid ultrasound-assisted liposuction (UAL)

Ultrasonic liposuction is much more dangerous. There were significant complications, with potential infection, and complete loss of the skin covered, due to burns caused by the heat generated by the ultrasound device. The first published reports and descriptions of UAL benefits were highly optimistic and inaccurate. Following these publications, some of the authors of these articles found serious complications as a direct result of the UAL. By not publishing these unfavorable results, the authors contributed to the unrealistic and overly optimistic UAL reputation.
